My latest school project Is to give a speach on something that you enjoy, so naturally I chose sailing...
in this speach i have to 'sum-up' sailing and give different views and opinions, so here's where (hopefully) you guys/girls come in, please could you tell me things like * why you enjoy sailing * pros/cons anything that would be of interest as i don't wish to bore my classmates or teacher!!

thrill, versitility- can (potentially do) anything from club racing in oppies to americas cup racing, can sail from toddlers to the day you die. Thats a few Pros. The only real cons for me are expense, time travelling and fickle weather. ------------- |

you should also talk about the thing that got you into sailing ie. the first time you set foot in a dinghy! also write about the thing that you most enjoy about sailing almost like an sailing life story ------------- International 14 1503 |

you should tell them that you met  hurricane through sailing, they will probably find that a bit more interesting than the actual sailing. Oh and don't forget to mention this forum, and all the advice you can get from it. I like to think that I have enriched the lives of at least some of the members.-------------

Just remeber its a school report, it will need to be objective so remember to add some balance to the argument. Mention some percieved bad points or barriers to the sport (whether or not you agree). Many, as we well know, are not in fact true, but from the point of view of getting marks it is far better to debunk them than gloss over them! Easiest thing would be to show the aussie skiff video! tell them that pitchpoling has to be done, and explain the concept and show some photos, everyone has to pitchpole cus it's brilliant fun and is funny, unless i break my rig for the 4th time!

Yes he bought my boat...as Dave says I will give my opinion when the cheque clears!! The boat is still locked away until then. Comments may also be limited even after that as he has applied to join Lancing SC, so I had to tell him the truth about the boat!!! Redback, I still have the 600. Yes I have bought a Contender. I intend to sail this at Lancing (if they'll have me) and do the winter series at Bough Beech. I just fancy a bit of sailing on the lumpy stuff. However Bough Beech is a VERY friendly club with good competition, so the winter series is a MUST. -------------
