Ok, the first BBQ of the season was had on Friday night and yesterday jeans and T-shirts were the order of the day.

Today I was expecting the 'cold snap', but we've got a few inches of snow and its still coming down!!!!  Best thing is - its surpirsed the gritters and we can't get out of the village

April: Historically, a month when both warm weather and snow are known.

It really, really isn't something particularly odd. Used to be that the ski season on the Scottish slopes could extend till mid April, occassionally further- one year I can remember Glencoe running lifts in June (mid nineties this was).

It's nothing odd, but my dogs are too young to have seen proper snow before. It's not often we get a couple of inches settling on the south coast. They keep trying to eat the flakes before they land!

Yup! About 3" of it here, and still falling.

OK, Competition time! Best snowman wins!

Of ya go!

Amazing,  T-shirts to  thermals  in a  matter of hours,  and the sailing  season is well under way.

Sarisbury Green,  just up from the River Hamble on the South Coast has just seen around 2" of the white stuff very quickly,  can't remember it like this since we have been down here in 15 years

It's sunny in Weymouth with not even a hint of the whitestuff. Not fair.

Even worse, just been told it's too breezy to hire a boat today. I'll just have to watch the Grand Prix instead.

Lancing Sailing Club at lunchtime today, just before a BIG snowball fight.

The enemies had to surrender. The Jackson girls beat 'em all, hehe!

And I was Race officer today. It was an easy duty !

didn't have my camera with me, but there was a fair bit of snow (not as much as those photos) in North London today, not many turned up to race.

Cor for once London got some decent snow. Was a good few inches as Villian said, but wheres the picture of the snowman?

As for the roads, they didn;'t have any on this morning (8.30!!) and it was all gone by the afternoon. I had no plans to sail anyway but did have snowball fights all morning!!

Dogs? My 5yr old daughter spent the morning trying to eat snow too. Wanted a cup of it with her breakfast, then caught her licking the hedge later on.

I told her the lore of "never eat the yellow snow".
