Reccently bought a cheap laser and the decks have large areas of mould like black dots/ marks.
Any advice on how to remove this? Will it come out? |

Have you dried thick bathroom bleech??? I used it on a few of my old lasers and it brings them up like new! ------------- |

never tried it, but if you do make sure you wash it down LOTS afterwards. if you have rust spots then i dont know as have never been able to get them off. for mould i would have said something like 'muc-off' would do the job nicely. or possibly a power washer set on spray (as opposed to jeb) mode and at a fair distance. ------------- Landlocked in Africa RS300 - 410 Firefly F517 - Nutshell Micro Magic RC yacht - Eclipse |

some stuff called gel klean or somthing. it is really strong stuff u leave it on then wash off after a bit and it is amazing ------------- TWO FRANK-Hunter Impala |

All used with a largish scrubbing brush. The issue with the laser been the deck surface means you have to scrub in every direction. A picture of its entirity may help if it shows more than you describe. ------------- |

cif tends to to a good job as well, as said before a good stiff scrubing brush will get right into the deck surface, rather than ripping a sponge to bits. ------------- RS400 866 RS300 381 |

The black dots are mildew. Bleach will do the job very well. Paint it on thinly and do not allow to dry out. Best method is to go to the pound shop or Macro etc and buy the cheapest thinnest bleach you can find. Then decant into a hand held sprayer and go to work. Thin coating onto the deck and don't allow to dry out (keep applying) An hour of this followed by a pressure wash should see the job done. Don't do this in the boat park though as bleach + marine life is not a good combination Jeyes fluid will do the job just as well and has the added bonus of smelling great and killing everything in site - its a Biocide ------------- When you find a big kettle of crazy it's probably best not to stir it - Pointy Haired Boss Crew on 505 8780 |

Normal house hold bleech will not damage it at all, but its not ideall to let it dry out but then why would you? Remeber most house hold baths are made out of the same materials as a laser anyway! ------------- |

Excellent advice chaps... it has worked a treat- all black dots (mildew/ mould) disappeared almlost instantly.
I do now have pink spots over my trousers though!
