Having sadly lost the RTI a few years ago due to sponsorship and financial issues (despite great efforts from the organisers) I was wondering if there were any plans to relaunch this event.

The LOCH NESS MONSTER RACE has now cemented it's place as the premier British long distance event, this is run on alternate years as we have been unable to find anyone willing to tame the monster on consecutive years, look out for an even bigger schedule for next year!!!!!! Would it be possible to run the RTI  on a bi-annual basis on opposite years ie even ones, when nessie is having her "rest year" This would perhaps take some of the annual pressure off the team and again make the event feasible.

This one goes out for endurance/adrenalin cat-sailing junkies everywhere, and anyone else with a slightly massochistic streak(spelling may be wrong, never had to write massochistic before-honest)

Sorry radixon, scottish tornado is right, it isn't me, I don't have the stomach for washing machines ---- I've only got the washboard abs.

I've been down for the piers race before, great venue and event though might not get there this year I'm pretty sure it clashes with something else,  not cat sailing but spouse related ....if I can get there I will be there.

someone's been taking my name in vain?

I'll take anything the timewarp Isle of Wight can through at me, and
double it!

Tame the MONSTER, and RIOW is a walk in the park!!

How do you eat your steak?
cuts its horns off and wipe its arse.

goodday!

(oh yes, the alternate year thing is a great idea!)

RTI is all go again thanks to Jim Mundy, and his big black tek kat, hes running it from calshot, also if you want a challange Jim is also running the fast boat race again round the solent, for its third time this year, and i may actully be able to do it this year instead of no helm turning up and having to watch it from the rib! That is again being run from Weston SC.

i assume the RIOW is restricted to double-handers, as per previous years,
for obvious safety reasons.

It is a fantastic event - have watched from beneath the waves when visitng
Aunt Mollie who lives in a Solent cave. (not telling you exactly where.....)

It is worth remembering that the MONSTER allow single handers to have a
crack at it.
