Doing some work on some boat bits - rebuilding a trashed rudder blade while another is built by Stealth marine after a Sprint 15 tried to balance on it.

Also painting 2 dagger boards.

I'd like to get hold of some W+D in larger sizes than A4 so I can get a good sized sanding block on the job.

Anyone have a source?

I’m sure if you looked around ye web you should be able to find rolls of the stuff. Schools suppliers’ maybe? If not try Screwfix or something like that.

I'm thinking the WET part of wet and dry would mean you won't find it for a belt sander! I have been searching but can only find the normal sized sheets. Are they not big enough?

our school glues the A4 sheet down to boards. if you did the same and stuck a handle on the back it would give you an A4 sized sanding block if that helps?

I want to make a board / sanding blcok longer than A4.

You can get dry grit on rolls up to 240 at least - I tend to do large fairing in courser grit on longboards then fine it off with wet on using the little 3m blocks. Try a local car paint wholesaler - they are everywhere...

Simon ... Buy biggest sheets you can, and glue them onto a sheet of paper, and then put THAT on the sanding block?

I think what he is trying to do say is join them both together.

Gaffa tape/Duct tape or strong glue to your surface!

yeh. the paper would just be a backing sheet to hold them all together while your sanding ( Unless you just glue it to the block, and throw it all away when your done )
