Not sure how many skaters are sailors or sailors who were skaters at one
time, there is no "Off Topic" section so excuse me for bunging it here.

Harrow Council want to bulldoze the skate park and the more people who
know and protest the better.

You'll have to paste that link to find out more, this forum software still
has a bug that prevents long links being posted by macs, one day maybe
the powers that be will ask their sister site how they overcame it, until
then apologies for the inconvenience.

This is what happens if you try to post the link

Your cut and paste link don't work.

This is on just about every skateboard forum in the country and posters are on most skateparks.  A mate of mine is on the commitee that meets with the council.  The council wants to build a new leisure center on top of the old skatepark, I don't think they are going to budge on this.  They are talking of about £700k for a new skatepark.  Sure it won't be the same as the old park, but skateboarding has changed.  Harrow needs a lot of money spent on it if it is going to last another 30 years imo.

I know it is a bit of UK skate history, and I will be sorry to see it go, but unless it gets listed status, which is very unlikely I think efforts need to be directed to making sure the new park is something very special, Saffron and Crawley have set the bench marks in the South, if the new Harrow can better those for design and in the case of Saffron, build quality I don't think there will be many complaints.

Plenty of other info and other opinions  http://www.sidewalkmag.com - www.sidewalkmag.com        http://www.middle-age-shred.co.uk - www.middle-age-shred.co.uk
