Anybody ever tried filming your training sessions? We've tried it a few times
and it's come off pretty well. Any videos out there you want to share? We filmed last weekends sailing, on the windy saturday, with a head mounted camera. I know it's been done before. The earliest example I've found was an 18footer racing in Sydney, I think it was Nokia, with a headcam. I was just wondering if anybody had footage available. We've tried mounting a camera on the back of the boat, between the wings and slightly behind, and have now tried the head cam. Up the mast is the next step. The camera we used was a Nokia N95, in a water proof phone pouch. I've been wondering where to stick it?? Was thinking of a bracket on the mast head. Seems the best place for "critical analysis". Unfortunately if the boat inverts it will be submerged beyond it's recommended depth. Might give it a go anyway. A few people on the forum have them on their chrimbo list I think. I expect their will be a few videos posted after the festive season. |

They are pretty good. They are quite 'zoomed in' if you know what I mean. They are too zoomed in to be used on your head really, We can't fit the whole boat in with it on top of a 8.5 meter mast with fishing rod extension! Simple to use and really waterproof and shockproof, can get them cheap from usa from universalmania.com I think. ------------- Needs to sail more... |
