Just for a bit of fun, what do you think the other Y&Y forum users want for Christmas?

I am guessing

Headfry: RS400

Brian: 29er

Hurricaine: Sailor Girl

Sailor Girl: new Byte rig

Ellen McArthur: for that monster depression to GO AWAY!

Any other thoughts?

Don't get me started

The volunteer I am running an experiment on to turn up in an hour so I haven't wasted the entire day coming into work when I should be glueing on pro-grip

Not too much traffic on the M4/M5 tonight as we drag the boat down to Plymouth

A nice force 3, with sunshine, for the Boxing Day race at Exmouth!

A fleecy balaclava so I don't freeze at the Grafham Grand Prix like last year

The new Cherub  to be finished in time for the Weston Grand Slam

Lucy

Go to WWW.trafficmap.co.uk before you set off to see what signs are set.

PS 16:10 it looks like an accident Westbound around J16 and lots of congestion around Bristol - bad luck!

just flicking through my military plane book and came up with these names:
harrier,(McDonnel douglas)
seafire,(supermarine-navy version of spitfire)
albatross,(sum german company)
seacobra,(made up)
tempest,(hawker-hurricane manufacturer)
kingfisher,(vought-corsair)
whirlwind.(westland)

any thoughts? plane manufacturers are probably better at coming up with names than us

RE: >> Lucy Lee you are so very right! i would love a 400,  your posting has brightend my day!

I can be your Santa!  I have a 400 available. All you need to do is to hand over some of that nasty commercial stuff called "money" and the boat will appear all ready for fun, sailing and racing!!

Brian I know I take the **** of Dave and his 600.  You should try one they are very dificult.  The hull is very light, the sail is very big and the whole thing is very tippy.  I'm sure you'll try one someday - they are unbelievably difficult.

Hey don't take all the glory.  Most of the club members are taking the **** out of me and my 600.

Colour should be an option, afterall Goran makes the Tornado in many colours

The Nacra A2 is missing a bigish something (for a 78 kg boat)

A 15sqm Kite !

The more I think about an M18, the more I want one - Just need to find the dosh from somewhere.   It rates so fast it will be a real challenge to sail.....faster than a Tornado.... Ummmmmm

Scooby Simon, that thing at the bottom of your posts makes the image too big and I have to move everything across to view it! It's a real pain in the ass.

Do we really want sponsor logos on  the forum?

Socks, pants, jumper, tool belt for work, and a few extra pounds round my middle.  I also got two really big hangovers.  NOTHING WHAT SO EVER TO DO WITH SAILING.

I got the "Slap down under" DVD: Good footage, but didn't Sailor Girl say something about "pretty boys", and "egos"? Some of the old windsrfing vid's did it better! Anyone remember the Rushwind "Spread the Word"? Classic footage, good music, short sharp clips, and an Aussie getting his masthead chopped off by a helicopter. What more could you ask for?

If you sail any high performance boat that "Higher and Faster" is worth every penny and worth waiting for.

Just looked at my Christmas wish list from earlier and I can safely say that Balaclavas are the best! It was freezing on Boxing day on the Exe ( http://www.fotoboat.com - www.fotoboat.com for great pics) and we were warm as toast. And it was sunny, and breezy if rather shallow!

We were also lovely and warm at Grafham, but the helm lost his glasses due to some inept trapezing (I am rubbing it in 'cos up till now it's been me making all the mistakes!) so we didn't finish.

It was spookily quiet on the motorway on the way to and from Devon, so all I have to wish for now is for RMW to get a move one with the new boat

I got a book about the 80+ year old lady that crossed the Atlantic, and a book called the shipping forecast, fab gifts!

It's true about the shipping forecast, we can all remember one or two areas but from where did we learn them? nice little read, even found myself wanting to 'tune in' to the forecast again!

Have not started the Atlantic crossing book yet,  a treat for a stormy day!

Oh Yes and the glow in the dark torch that i was given is great! it works!!

Hoi. Lucy, I'm ahamed of you. Its *always* the helm's fault - we crews are hardly to blame if the ballast aft does't handle the boat correctly to cope with whatever tiny and trivial change in boat or sail trim we might inadvertently cause for some reason that escaped us just afterwards:-)

Hmm. While I agree in principle that the helm's place is in the wrong I am not sure that launching yourself onto the trapeze without checking that it is attached can be considered a tiny and trivial change in the boat trim. It is a double handed boat after all!
