Bit of a pain on the rest of us mortals though. Both their boats were older than mine, although difficult to tell as they were just dots after the first beat.

Actually you should also give credit to the third and forth guys. Neil and Buster are hardly spring chicks anymore and Adrian and Mike managed 4 bullets over the week having spent day1 upside down with a flooded mast.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to come and compete. Sorry about the rain.

DaveK will, I am sure, see this and cut and paste. Not really my place to do so as I didn't write article.

Incidentally, conditions were bad enough on Day 1 that water got into my starboard rudder tip through a chip that I thought I had repaired and split it open like a peeled banana!

Greg went home on Day5 for 18th birthday celebrations. Andy Webb then showed his American side by only joining in when he knew who was going to win!

The race report is too long to post here! (Written by Andy Webb on the 8 hour ferry crossing on the way back - he must have been bored!).

Once I have shortened it a bit it will be coming to the Y&Y mag and website with some photos.

Watch this space!

Dave K already has the event report up on the http://hurricane59.myfreeforum.org/ - H59 forum . But for those unlucky few who aren't registered (Scooby), I've posted it on the Ballyholme website and you can find it http://www.ballyholme.com/events/hurricane/h59euros.htm - here .

Not wanting to disagree with the venerable Webby but can I just say that no way was Race8 sailed in a F4. The RO had it at between 21 and 27kts and when the windshift kicked in and the beat turned into a close reach it was effin fast.

Rare picky of me amongst the prize-winners. Third from the left in the back row holding a shield. (OK so I came 20th after a litany of kit failures. But it's the 20th anniverasy of the class so I got the Anniversary Shield. Go Dave, go Dave, go Dave,...)
