Hello,

Wonder if someone can help me out? A few of us are essentially hijacking a boat and taking it to Cowes this year, but the boat insurance policy is primarily for cruising (the boats normal activity) and whilst it does cover for racing, does not have the usual 2/3 cover for rigging etc. during racing.

I can't be the first to have this problem (hope) and I am wondering how people have got around this and also if there are any companies that will provide cover for shorter periods of time, eiher for the week or the month?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Terry

Is the owner going to be sailing.

Either way, get the owner to phone the insurnace company and ask how much temp racing cover would be.  Any sensible company should be able to add a short term coverage.
