My once white foils have now had a few dinks and donks repaired with epoxy - any recommendations for paint for a quick re-spray? I was thinking about a standard car paint aerosol.

Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

IME Car paint is too fragile. I'd always shell out for two pot polyurethane from the specialist sailing paint folk.

i use car paint out of an arosol and sand it down with fine wet and dry after to make sure its smooth. Foil paint doesnt reallyneed to last longer than 6 months as you will inevitably end up dinging (or snapping ) them anyway.
