If your club has a nearby RNLI station - do you know if you give the crew honorary membership?

We have a lifeboat station across the harbour from us at Shoreham. Don't know whether the crew have membership or not (honorary or any other kind). Given that they 'suggested' that the 2nd race of the Fireball / Phantom open was not sailed on the Sat (bottom third of the fleet struggling - top third loving it) there may be opinions on their knowledge of performance sailboat racing...

To play Devils Advocate; who is to say whether thay would want to be members of a sailing club anyway? They might be fishermen, water-skiers, divers, or devotees any other water-borne leisure activity... The offer could still be made, though...

Robin - do you know?
