Right most of you are probably aware of the fact that quite a few of us
got conned by the user Mud-Plugger and that he has potentially got over
£1000 from various members, me be being one of them. He has done this
using almost the exact same con, even using almost the same back story,
on at least three other forums:-

Opel Manta Forum
Mk1 Astra Owners Forum
He
used three different names, Martin or Kevin Dines and I think he has
used Mark , various different user names, that all look too familiar,
Mad-Un, Mud-Plugger, Landy-Loon. We got two different fake addresses,
an IP address and he knows his stuff, about different type of cars and
what we buy.
He only accepted PayPal payments, so if you've
haven't already done it, put in a claim. If you paid through your
credit card on PayPal make a fraudulent payment claim with them also,
they will be quicker and you're more likely to get your money back. If
not the wait through PayPal is going to be at least 30 days, but with
the amount of people claiming against him, they should realise
something is up.
RussyBoy contacted the police and was given the
e-mail address of officer Ann Wallis (ann.wallis@northants.police.uk),
I've contacted her with as much info as possible and she has asked me
to contact Northamptonshire Police on 0845 700700 and speak to Central
Recording Bureau. They are going to take the details and pass
everything onto Ann, quote the crime reference number of NB/28905/06.
I
suggest again if you haven't done so, report it to them. The more
people that do it will mean that the more seriously they will take the
crime and hopefully get hold of this guy.
He needs to be
stopped, it's been done here and other places and he will probably do
it again somewhere else - even with all the warnings we've been sending
to other forums.
He has dented my trust, and probably that of others, and I hate him for that more than anything else!

A bit odd that some of the name appear at other addresses, seem to be a few folk with mighty similar names too.
Probably a camp of "travellers" or nest of scammers.
