Hi Guys, What is the best weather website for the UK and the sites that you use most often. I seem to get all excited with a good 20+ mph breeze forcast only to trun up at the event and hang around for hours until the smallest of zephyrs arrives. Maybe its because I am using the free sites which may not be a accurate? Cheers |

Look out the window. Instant results. I find that most of the free sites are aimed at those who want to know if it is safe to hang out the washing. So if there is a chance of a bit of wind they always go over the top. Mind you I am too tight to sign up to a site you have to pay for. -------------

I agree with you on that one. It does not seem to make much difference to me what the forcast says. I still go to the club. Moan about the wind direction and then go sailing anyway and enjoy myself. Much better that sitting at home with the childrens progs. on the telly and the wife nagging me to get up and do something. -------------

You have got to check out this weather station - LIVE weather. The arrows move in real time. http://www.devilsdyke.net/live_weather.htm - http://www.devilsdyke.net/live_weather.htm There are also 2 webcams. Mmm seaweed is obviously too advanced for me too!
As well as the sites mentioned weatherweb.net has a good service which mails out a summary and diagrams for the weekend ahead. ------------- If you're not smiling, do something about it :o) |

If we are running a big event I also phone the Coastguard and monitor channel 16. |

www.weather.co.uk is very good for up to date stuff and forecasts if there is a buoy near to you! or where your going!! otherwise i use windguru and www.onlineweather.com - which is very consistent and one of the best i have found!  ------------- Any one in need of quality carbon fibre work (tillers etc) at decent prices! In the UK there is a type called lace seaweed5, a single, long strand of seaweed, looking a lot like a bootlace. Hang this up in a sheltered area and as the humidity rises the seaweed becomes damp, slimey and pliant, as humidity drops it becomes hard and brittle." The only snag with this is it didn't predict the weather; it just told you what was already happening. |

OK what you do is this..... get a bucket or two of seaweed, boil for a couple of hours on high, get one clothes peg, apply clothes peg to nose, drink as much seaweed juice as possible, descend into a deep psycho- tropic state, see the future and foretell the weather.... see it's simple. Or alternatively hang some seaweed by your door and if its crispy it will be fine if its soft it will be raining soon.
