Yep, saw the match and delighted about the result
Allez Les Bleus!
Might take the arrogant smirks off those Irish!

The Scotland-England match was brilliant!  Absolutely amazing try from Wilkinson  But I hope Scotland have a good tournament, they're a good team and nice players.

Understatement of the decade.  The've played crap.  Carry on like this and they will be made to look stoopid at the world cup.

Erm......we're only one of two teams not to be beaten yet.  How does that one work??
I think we're going fine.  We've got Wilkinson back and we're back to a one man team and I love it!!  We may not be flashy and we may not be all that convincing but we keep the points ticking over and we win our games

C'mon Ingerlanddddd

But we go up against a decent side we'll (currently) be taken to bits and made to look very ordinary; I could see NZ / Aus or SA put 50 points past us.

I seem to remember similar things being said before and during the last World Cup; England always seemed to play just above the level needed to win. Unfortunately I can't really comment on England's current performance as I've been sat in Yachmaster Theory sessions when they've been playing!

Gotta disagree with that.  Last World Cup we were playing well and were a fancied team.  On current form we'll just scrape thru the group stage; yes, we may improve, but there needs to be improvement to get anywher at the World Cup.

Is that all!! There is a lot of work to do before we can even think about playing one of the tri-nations!

Pre world cup yes, but I remember walking out from watching England South Africa and even the biggest England fans couldn't convince themselves we could win. They were happy to be proven wrong! Still, at least after the Scotland match I thought there is an opportunity for improvement - under Robinson at best it was stagnation. Anyway, at least it gets football off the TV

I reckon we have as good a chance as any team in beating S.Africa or Australia (okay not NZ).  People make the England team out to be worse than they actually are - I was positively encouraged by our first two 6 nations games.  I doubt we'd have even been able to beat Italy under Robinson.  Look on the bright side - we're world champions!!!
And we're gonna defend it!

england couldn't beat any tri-nations team and i think they wales match will be a close one if they dont sort themselves out, and PB we only really scraped through the Italy match

We scraped through the Italy match because we were lowered to their standard of play and they actually played a very tight game with their strong forwards and made it very hard for us to play an expansive game.  But a win's a win and I think if we played against a better side we could easily up our game...

Thing is, a world class side imposes the game they want to play.  You've hit the nail on the head here, we were not good enough to play the game we wanted to play and had to play the game Italy would let us play.  The post match interviews withe the English players backed this up.  Italy imposed the game they wanted to play on us.

Over here we adjust our our icebreaker racing schedule to take account of the matches. It was heartbreaking for the Irish but if France hadn't taken their foot off the pedal at 13-3 to allow Ireland to get back in the game, it mightn't have even been close!

England are great (and I do mean great) when they are going forward. This relies on a huge pack to give the half-backs time and options. When they are not almighty in the front eight they have to think and play much faster. Not much has changed in the past few years. We are not good at producing and utilising quick ball.

Ireland are going to be hopping mad after the France game and I fear the worst for England's match at Croke Park. Not for the first time I may become the loneliest man in Ireland!
