Help

I have recently purchased a Bolero 25 and as well as racing on an IRC basis hope to do some sailing at my local sailing club who race using the Portsmouth Yardstick system.

The Bolero is listed as having a recorded number PY Which suggests it is based on limited data.  Has anyone sailed their Bolero or know of any Bolero's sailed under the PY system? and if so any idea what PY No. they sailed off and if this was realistic.

Interested to hear peoples thoughts.

Hi, a few Boleros have raced on the Forth over the years and the FYCA (Forth Yacht Clubs Association) both uses PY figures for racing and keeps statistics for them. I think figures for about six Boleros are there:

http://www.fyca.org.uk/ - www.fyca.org.uk/

They are currently suggesting a PY of 996 is appropriate for the Bolero.

You might want to look at their figures in more detail, pdf file 'yacht performance statistics 1996-2005 inc'.

I hope this is of some help.
