I have just replaced the blocks on the kicker system on my Phantom as the old ones had died worn out. I have a pair of triple blocks similar to the pics, one with a becket. The question is how do I go aboout threading them....is there a correct way. The way it pulls the one nearest the mast looks like it should thread throught the centre sheave first, but then the rope crosses over others later on! If I put it to the side and thread so all the lines are straight it pulls to one side....is this Ok. Anyone got any close up pics of their setup or am I worrying to much? Thanks mark   |

there was a diagram of the best way in yachts and yachting years and years ago like 2002 maybe they still have it?? ------------- lifes to short to sail slow boats! RIP Olympic Tornado 1976-2007 |

Harkens website has diagrams , worth a look , or ask them ,your blocks look like harken . I have similar for mainsheet with camcleat from middle lower block , when reeved as designed by harken blocks sit @90 degrees to each other as Jim says above , makes huge diifference in free running. ------------- |

I Can try to get a picture of my tornado ones at the weekend as an idea. I think on the Tornado I use the non becket block on the top and the becket one at the bottom. Put another single block on the becket. Start at the top block by tying a bowline with the rope going through the block. lead down to the left hand side of the lower block, up to the left on the top, down to the extra block on the becket, up to the right on the top, down to the right on the bottom, up to the middle on the top then finally down to the middle on the lower. Sounds messy but works well Picture will make it easier though
