Bugger, if only I hadn't bought that second boat already. I wonder how quick I can sell a Contender?

Looks in good nick which is probably important as I bet spare are like hens teeth.

I might be wrong but... no, I'm fairly sure I'm right... don't Y&Y have a classified section for this sort of thing?

There's not really alot on them that you couldn't get if you bust it. The foils
can be got from Phils foils. And the mast is essentially a windsurfer mast.
and the rest is a few bits of standard ronstan kit. And I'm sure North Sails
have still got the sail patterns e.t.c

I wonder how about advertising your boat in Y & y and adding that there will be an ebay auction too giving date and time , use your asking price as a buy now , also reserve your right to sell outwith the auction

Could be the start of something .

that would have been a good idea. should have done that

ebay was my last resort as i have had it up for sale for ages and had to get rid of it.  got a few bids already so is going well.

The point I was making is actually that you shouldn't be advertising a boat for sail on the forum as it by-passes one of Y&Y's 'revenue streams' but as you have already advertised in the mag then you could probably be excused. I just don't want the forum to be an extension of the classified ads - if I want to buy a boat I'll go there.

I wonder if Y&Y clasified can be used to advertise an auction though? anyone read the small print?

A very poor ad for what could be a fun boat for someone who doesn't want to sail the same thing as everyone else. If he had actually rigged the boat for the pictures it would have helped. Have to agree £40 would be pushing it for a final auction price with a decent ad, but then I've seen far less interesting old hulks in far worse condition actually sell for more money.
