i think to anyone who has sailed a foxer dinghy and then car with a mirror dinghy rig on sailing would seem most definitely boring.  However...the man is wrong

Ask Jon Emmett if sailing was boring today at Lancing! 3 races back-to-back kept him entertained... at least, he didn't lap the entire fleet

Nice to meet you Jon

What gets me is despite sinking and having half a barge glued to it that VW camper will probably still be worth several thousand pounds.

And the huge cloud of blue smoke coming from the VW camper van as they first turned up was rather ominous.

I wonder if there's a team of mechanics ready to rescue them on the way... Otherwise, how can you fix a vehicle with a welded bonnet?

I admire what they were doing, but they went about it the wrong way. It would have been far better to have started with a boat and integrate a car!!!

Without? Sketchy.

With the amount of stuff you've taken off it, it would float away in the wind!

You had to love the Toyboata!
Just the fact all that horsepower causing it to take a nosedive, immensily fun to watch, especially when they eventually got beat by a car without a centreboard!

hmm... well fair enough, but as far as i knew, isis may have two cherubs, one of which is his pride and joy, the other is sitting in a garden/garage somewhere. I do not know the details of his life. If this is not the case then im sorry for being inquizitive about a boat i mite have wanted. Maybe i should have looked at his site but hey, what can you do!

lol 2 cherubs. now either he has some news or you have the wrong end of the stick. Ben has one Cherub 'Comfortable Numb' an Italian Bistro Design. It is currently in the process of being brought up to 05 rules in time for the Nationals at the mighty Largo Bay Sailing Club (which i hope you will be attending in June for the Scottish Skiff Event??).

i know that now, just at the time i thought he might have a second boat which is a wreck, (I know people who have more than 1 knackered boat on their hands) hence i should have had a quick look at his site. lol. forums can be confusing if you havnt got all the info.

yes i will be there at largo bay in june for SSR. but i MAY also be there in september for the cherub nats hopefully. i was talking to will lee and he said he knew of a couple of boats looking for crews. so you never know.

strictly speakin im still england, but not really, kielder is pretty much scotland and most of the sailin i do is in scotland (SSR). Will even said he knew of a cuple of guys who couldn't go but were happy for their boats to go, not sure id trust myself with someones boat who i don't know though. It would deffo be cool to crew or helm for someone though.

Yeah but that sounded terribly like a petrol engine without and spark plugs in to me!  And he also opened the door to start it when they had been welded shut, which would suggest that perhaps it had been rigged!
