Which episod is it? He's going to blow all his money on cards and silly bets, fall out with his wife, have an improbable affair with a stick insect, be extraordinarily perceptive when it comes to catch the villain ("Hmmm, that type of disembowelling is typical of a seesaw-and-slide trauma, occuring in childhood in the 70s, on a Tuesday in Spring at about 10 past two... Sorry, can't be more precise... still, my hunch is to investigate all one-armed lab technicians..."), still be extraordinarily dense when it comes to handling his kids and suffer a special episode in Hong-Kong which sacrified the storyline to the scenery.

Can barely remember it myself....

With an accent like that, it's hard to forget he's Scottish! He sounds like the best part of Contender443's family...

Claim to fame.

Once had a slash in the gents at the Mean Fiddler in Harlesden next to Robbie Coltrane. It was a Bhundu Boys concert in the 1980s. He was wearing a bright purple suit.

Before most of you were born probably!

Cracker is nonsense by the way.

Sorry, I'm under the slight illusion nowadays that if I have a hole in my boat (not happened yet), that repairing it with duck tape only will lead on to the following conversation;

"Hello Mr. Noble...........yeah we put duck tape over a hole and now the boat is sitting at the bottom of the Tamar..........."

Nah, have faith in duck tape! Ask Contender443: he had a gash on his Cntender hull a few years ago, so big it made him almost sink (hilarious sight from the beach! ). He repaired the hole with duck tape and kept on sailing happily for a few weeks until he did a proper repair... Duck tape rules!

and if you don't believe me, have a look at this:

If ducktape can hold the bow of a Tornado together for the last 3 days of an Olympic Classes Regatta then it can hold anything!

In the 1983 Kielerwoche I hit an Italian T that tacked absolutely smack in front of me (his fault). We finished the week off with our port bow ducktaped together AND we barely took any water!

Even now a roll of ducktape is never very far away from my kitbag.........
