I don't seem to be able to login using Firefox. Seems fine with IE. Is anyone else experiencing problems?

Works even better than that! The settings got exported from IE and I got logged in automatically!

However, I had to log in manually with Opera and Netscape. Still, I didn't get chucked out...

OK, seems like it's a probelm that only occurs to people who sail red Cherubs named after fruits!

Next question is, can anyone think of a reason why it won't let me log in? Probably got some settings wrong somewhere. I'm using Windows XP Pro, and Firefox 5.0 if that helps.

My guess as to why you can't login would be cookies... You have to allow Firefox to eat them. Headfry forum boatshow cookies are the best!

I notice that you're living in Zaire - this could be the reason, although the site has been quite slow when we've had extremely high traffic levels. I guess that's the problem with 500,000 users / month!

That's probably next door to the people who live in Afghanistan, and whose son posts from the Virgin Islands (was it WaveRider, for a while?) !!!

It is not just him Mark, I have had a few speed related issues with occasional timeouts over the last week or so. It is similar to what it was when you were reaching the hosting bandwidth limit a little while back.

Anyone else had similar issues?

The server upgrade is coming soon!

There are no bandwidth issues, just processor speed that is the bottleneck at the moment. We often have over 2,000 people on the site at one time...

The forum is always the slowest bit of the site due to the amount it has to access the database and construct the pages from a few tables.

Have fun with long hours stuck in the server room cursing it! (thats normally what happens when we upgrade servers here)

Sack your technicians and get some decent ones then! Schools are a bit lax when it comes to upgrades though (normally because they cannot afford to employ the best staff).

I didnt realise you were a techie Villan!

$ weeks is seriously long when you think we did wireless network, e-mail deployment and 65 laptops in less than that.

But then again if they are using RM Connect it might take that long.

Yeh, Webadmin my own server, getting a 2nd soon.

Hoping to one day have a few racks out, but am looking for work somewhere (even just installing / upgrading would be good!) even just as experience.
