Just bought a video camera and waterproof housing and spent last weekend mounting and testing it on my boat. Below is a short clip from the footage taken. Will spend the next few weeks gathering footage to produce a promo video. Video is mounted on the spinnaker pole...... Will be making up brackets to mount it all over the boat.

More to come mate......  This was in less than 10 knots.  Just wait for more breeze.  Next place to mount it will be on the boom.  Will then look at putting somebody in the water near a mark and then give it to a chase boat.  Plenty of fun still to come.

Good effort. What's the single trapeze mono-hull you fly past?

More footage, this time in 15 plus knots @ Kurnell. Laruffa, Greg /
Kez, 2 Tornadoes and Macca's super Taipan and us in the spinnaker boat
division.

Here we have a stink boat split the spinnaker boats on a downwind.
Tornado was on the inside of us and the crew was thrown off the boat
when their boat became airborn, resulting in a capsize.

Sony DCH-26E handicam with a Sony SPK-HCB underwater housing

Also found another waterproof kit that consists of a small bullet cam (size of a liptick) with a cable running to a water proof casing with the camera inside. This would be much better for head cam shots..... Just keep the camera in a backpack. Also can keep the camera in the tramp pocket and tape the bullet cam wherever you want.

Check it out here..... http://www.helmetcamera.com.au/XtremekitPlus_waterproof_kit.htm - http://www.helmetcamera.com.au/XtremekitPl...erproof_kit.htm

What about rigging up a set up like they do for the 49ers during the olympics coming aft off the rear beam to get a full veiw of the tramp and the action ahead.

Couple of bieces of tubing flattened at the end and attached to the cross beam bolts joined above and aft of the rear beam with the cam looking fwd

Go Big or Go home or sail a 49er!!!

Will be looking at that in the future.......  Also have to buy a wide angle lense for the camera.

Realy the bullet cabera is the way to go and I would have chose that if I new about it.  It allows you to put the camera in a back pack and mount the bullet cam on your head, or but the camera in the tramp pocket and run the cable / taping the bullet cam any where you like such as on the end of the spinaker pole (either way......  Taped to the bow, deck side of hull.......   or even at the top of the mast looking down.

Plenty of options.

Some very interesting angles from a pole mounted camera being held by a person on a chase boat.  I quiet like it when the camera goes under the airborne hull and then dips underwater for a view of the centerboard cutting threw the water
