Hi everybody
My names Ben. I have a passion for chopping up brightly coloured short

I am Stuart and I sail a Contender. It is a cool boat (not sub zero but always cool). Oh and it beats me up most weekends, but I think that is due to stepping out of a Laser and into a Contender without ever being on a trapeze before

No response to that, so I guess you're all too young to have seen "Apocalypse Now"...
BTW I'm Rob, I'm an ageing Solo sailor who used to sail a Merlin many years ago! Welcome to the forum, but be warned, it can become addictive, and you will be tarred with the epithet "really should get out more".

Hi, I'm Owen and my age isn't as big as my sail number yet. I used to sail Scorpions but I'm stuck in Taiwan so I can't sail. I started to use the forum to remind myself if I can still write English - and I can't. Any newbies will need to learn to ignore most of what I write cos I lost all my marbles along time ago and somtimes I take a contradictary position for my own entertainment.
This forum is, I think, great because behind each post and view is a character who cannot hide. With every arguement, comment and remark they reveal a little more about themselves. You will often find me pushing people with curt and goading remarks to reveal more character and more personality....... most always deliver.
If there is one thing which never ceases to amaze me, it is UK sailors ability to discuss 'which class is best' for hours, over and over again. There is no argument in this - it's the Scorpion!

Hi,
I am Paul, I am 31 (not quite the old man of the forum). I have sailed many things in my time (but never a Cherub, think I am too fat for one). Currently sailing a Blaze having given up on a Laser.
I occasionally crew in a furball which is unique on the ciruit having orange tiger stripes, sharks teeth and a 4ft Jessica Rabbit painted on the kite (no sail numbers though).

A scooter?? You should get yourself a bike! It speeds up your sailing too as you get fitter! It also doesn't make noise...
Also less of the sl*gging off of white boats - I've always owned white/grey boats!! I think they're cool & I never get called OCS (well ok sometimes)!
I must also agree with Calum - you can only go on a scooter up north if first you've passed your "rob a granny" test wearing a tracksuit & a cap or if you're trying to make noise (both are annoying - get a bike!).
