Hello!

Can you please advise me?

I was inspecting my boat (it was stored in the hangar) and noticed that the bottom is covered with either moss or algae. The layer is thin, but in some places, it's as thick as a finger. Do I need to clean it off or will it come off on its own in the water?

Difficult to say without seeing exactly what is going on, but I think it's unlikely it will come off on its own. Was the boat in water or out on land, and what is the boat made from?

Hi,

Buy a large bottle of household bleach (cheapest!).

Using appropriate safety equipment (glasses/goggles, washing-up gloves, old clothing and wellies), dilute 1 part bleach to 10 parts tap water.

Scrub the algae using the diluted bleach, and rinse with fresh water. Repeat until clean.

You may need to check your storage conditions (too much humidity?) or not enough ventilation.
