Im sure this has been asked somewhere before but I cant see it...

I need to remove some sail numbers from a kite as they dont match my boat. They are a slightly different material from normal sail numbers and definantly arent just gonna fall off.

Ive heard hairdriers and a scraper might be worth trying? anyone got any experiance with this or any other method? bearing in mind its spinnaker cloth not a big hefty laminate it can be scrapped off...

Cheers peoples

I did see in the new P&B catalogue that they now supply stuff to remove them and the glue after. I cant find the product on the website but it is in the catalogue.

Evostik glue remover from your local hardware store (little red tin) will do the job.

Thanks for all the suggestions peeps but im slightly dubious about pouring all these chemicals (especialy petrol!) over spinnaker material... does anyone have any first hand experiance with this stuff?

cool,

Im interested in any of these tips as also have the same problem with a spinney plus three mains. In fact i dont have a single sail that matches our boat, but she is old and ex-UKSA so i suppose its to be expected!

I've used petrol with no ill effect.  In fact looking around under the bonnet of my car quite a few fittings in the fuel system are made from nylon.
