Got an email just now. Yachts & Yachting appear to be in very junior position on logo..

Who's even heard of Sailing Today?

What's happened to Mark or is this the none online version?

Print Mags are pretty much screwed anyway, joining together won't save them.

Sign of the times I guess.

Read it a bit more, Online stays independant it's just the print mags merging supposedly for the duration of covid 19, unlikely they'll separate afterwards, like Dinghy Magazine once it's gone it's gone which was a shame since I figured that Dinghy mag catered more for my interests. Nothing Sailing today is ever going to print likely to be of interest here..

Life never going to be the same, you can get the magazine online, read it on your phone/tablet.

I don't know when it happened but suddenly I find that all glossy magazines seem outrageously expensive. It could be that I've become all miserly with age or that magazines have had to increase cover prices as circulation has fallen.

Heavy glossies also seem rather wasteful to me nowadays and best will in the world if you subscribe to pretty much any hobby magazine for more than two years you'll see the same topics being rehashed

Is there a place for a cheaper newsprint magazine, I believe MCN is still going.

You can get a lot of magazines with Amazon prime, I used to have MCN, printed, only printed magazine I have now is from caravan club.

Sailing Today frequently in news agents when Y&Y isn’t. People than need to add lots of weight to their boats so they can sail them are far more attractive to advertisers than real sailors.

If you read the notes it says only for the duration of Covid 19.

Lots of things won't survive, who would have thought this time last year when planning for Bank Holiday weekend, that in 2020 we would be checking our food supplies.

Well maybe it's me with an old guard perspective but I'd have thought Yachts & Yachting with Sailing Today would have been more appropriate given the Yachts & Yachting titles seniority, or have things changed that much in lead mine world..
Either way fully agree, no coming back from this, Y&Y is done as a print entity, does Sailing Today even have an online presence, can't really be asked to even look..

Given the current situation, I'd say the title Sailing Today is a bit of a non-starter.

Both magazines have a printed circulation of 30K. Sailing today has been since 1997 but hasn’t got a particular strong online presence.

Chelsea magazines have number of publications, Classic Boat 50K and English Home ? 71K.

Advertising revenue will be reduced as we are surely doing to loose a few sailing business - I imagine we are close to Sailing Industry Black Friday- day. I imagine Y&Y will only exist on line next year, how much will our community pay for exclusive content?

I hope it's not permanent. This covid situation may have promoted it but it could well become a permanent change
