The post seems to have failed i.e. blank when I looked at it so I am trying again as a reply.

I have a dinghy which I believe to be a RA class with a RA logo on the main sail. (A RA stylised  to form a circle) The dinghy is 4.2m loa and 1.75m beam. constructed from GRP with a pivoting centre board. Its design and construction lends it to being a day boat rather than a racer with sails a bit small for its size (IMO). Its sides are fairly deep and the fore deck, sides and transom are boxed in and sealed with substantial rubber seals with covers removed with turn buckles (= storage lockers) The mast is stepped on the fore deck. The dinghy came from Germany but  who knows where it originated. There are no makers plates on the boat.

I have searched Google for the class and the RA logo but found nothing (but then searching the logo examples I failed to see the Hornet logo (the dinghy I used to sail) so the lists are obviously not exhaustive.

Can anyone shed some light on this dinghys origins.

Thanks
