This might be a stupid question but are there any trimaran dinghies in the world??
Are there reasons why they are not a popular design or why nobody's tried it yet?
Probably a bit of a ridiculous thought but i was just wondering about it.

These boats are normally sailed by the disabled but the racing is just as fierce as anything that you may have come across. A young chap called Dan Newton was the Welsh, Irish, Scottish, English and National Champion in 2002. Sadly, he is no longer with us but Val MiIllward of Rutland is carrying the torch. These are no toys and further, there is a gentleman at Oxford Sailing Club still sailing one and he is at least 93!!! (hope for us all then).

Light wind, boat with lots of wetted surface area.  Not too surprising !

yeah the boat relies on it's hydrofoils so if it was too light to use them it's not suprising it wasn't that fast.
