The very last thing you should do is associate that with me or it'll be instantly condemned.

Why even now the PYAG must be going into a COBRA meeting to discuss a counter response.

Good luck to them, I hope they sell a few, anything that gets bums on water isn't really a bad thing (even though it does claim to be a SUP).

Not sure what you are saying iGRF ?
Their have been loads of similar gear over the years, including inflateable versions, some even have seats so you can paddle Kayak style.

3 Grand for a beach toy that looks awkward in any of its roles, make the Laser look like a bargain.
If it was £500, they would sell loads.
It could do with being a bit lighter too.

Not saying anything other than in jest, but there is a correlation with me choosing a class and it either failing to launch or everybody getting sick, or the class dies.

Let's just take a look at my history.

MPS       (still surviving but then it was only a loan and luckily for them I never committed)
L3K        (pretty much gone)
RS500    (Did it ever get going other than as a twin trapezer in Scandinavia)
Alto        (failed to really launch)
Blaze      (ditto MPS)
RS100    (ditto RS500)
EPS       (pretty much dead)
Icon       ( ditto EPS)
Solution (hanging in there but not really going anywhere)
Minisprint (there was a nationals this year but it's sporadic)
Farr 3.7 (as soon as I bought it anyone with sense sold theirs )

Not that I care particularly, but that Maverick represents a lot of work and a persons committment and deserves praise for actually getting it to market, what was that quote about 'it's never the critics that count but the man actually in the arena'? Having said that somebody needs to buy it and they need a market to sell it to which is sadly lacking in this sport, unlikely there's a margin to sell it via my world, which is a shame things like this never quite stick it using the internet alone.

Minisail only missed one national in 10 years to my knowledge, last year was exceptional circumstances, (Rupert selling his Minisail). You missed a good weekend this year and Rupert got knocked off top spot by a new member. Bowmoor put on a good event.

to my mind clubs should have these instead of picos and the like.

Serious question ? Can you not have padding on a Laser side deck ?

You can do anything you like if you just want to sail it but if you want to race then the answer would be no......

What would you say to RO ? What would be their answer ? I would say ok and just give them same PY, would put Laser*, with an explanation at bottom of page.

It would be outside class rules.
It would probably make tacking harder with a lot of kicker on.
Apart from Finns and B14s, which other classes go for padding anyway?
(The B's seem to have a degree of upholstery where the tramp wraps around the outer wing bar).

RS400atC,
Would you allow it to sail ?

If I were RC I'd probably round it to the nearest round number below, which makes next to no difference, on the grounds that with the padding and extra freeboard its probably easier to sit out further for longer with less wave impact.

But the crucial difference is I wouldn't allow it to start in Laser class races.

I think Sam posted on wrong thread when he asked about the Kirby Torch, would Kirby Torch be allowed ?

You have a strange view of things sometimes iGRF. Obviously, if they have been sold they have new owners. That's a positive thing, given that the boats that were being sold, were being sold because of ill health. For classes to get bigger you need churn. Now, if you'd like to step forward to take on one of the committee posts, as I asked you to do, to which you went very quiet. You can be involved in increasing the numbers. Rather than claiming to be a Jonah.

Were any actually built? If so then no it would not be a class legal Laser (unless the Laser CA made a ruling to allow them). Would I allow it in a club race? Yes I probably would and I would give it the same PN as a Laser.
