In the past I have had to claim for 2 505 masts in a month which was not good.
A couple of damage caused by Port and starboard incidents. I think total  its probably 5 claims in 40  years racing so don't think I would be classed as high risk.

Don't think I've ever claimed, I only get cover for racing and third party liability, there's always an excess and I could never be asked to go through all the bureaucracy knowing they'll probably refuse the claim anyway, i don't have a particularly high opinion of the Insurance Industry.

I have claimed 2 in 30 years. Both were settled quickly and in full. One was with Noble and the other was with Newton crum.

Normally it's for holes in plywood boats. Last claim was for my boat I'd lent to someone else, and they nearly sank an Enterprise. Nobles were very good.

Once, for a bent mast after a whopping capsize.

2 broken Lark masts and a broken B14 mast (sheared off the the tenon on the mast's bottom cat alloy fitting).  Other than that, no other claims that I have made no others made on my insurance.   Pretty low risk since the late 1970s!
