Is there no straightforward simple sailing gear any more? I've reluctantly come to the conclusion I need to replace my spraytop even though its only 14 years old, so I want another basic minimally lined top I can chuck over the wetsuit/T shirt if its raining or windy. But all the major brands I recognise seem to be superunobtanium ultrawarm multibuzzword with price tags to match and all sorts of tech terms which I can't be bothered to find out about...

I got a decent pair of sailing boots from Decathlon for £26, soles stiff enough to walk on gravel, I think they had Kag's.

I would second Decathlon - good gear - low price. There impact BA looks the best around to me for much less than the branded stuff. Not tried there spray tops, but all the other gear I have had from there is actually better than the 'real' stuff.

I have a Decathlon spray top, 8-9 years old, light use bit it's still fine. Will buy another this spring and keep the old one as a spare/loaner. I've got a couple of their short john wetsuits and a short sleeved summer wetsuit, all great. And much other kit, never been dissatisfied.
