That's easy, he who hesitates... Shouldn't have changed your mind when you first went for it. Even I can spot that.

Gybed in a gust LOL tried to get out of it, sailed that day with heavy cold, was a bit out of it Disapprove

It might be an illusion brought on by camera angle, but it looks like you are gybing with the main a long way in, too. Hesitation lost you speed, then the sail just blew you over as too much difference in windspeed and boatspeed. Suspect it was windier than it looks?

Didn't 'beat the boom' ,across the boat (not with a large stick type beating)

Looks like a very big course change leading to the gybe, which makes it difficult to control in a strong wind. Better to get onto a broad reach and then gybe rather than trying to go for it from a close reach. The hesitation can't have helped either.
