Hi,

Did anybody else watch Ellen Macarthur on Top Gear. She was a celebrity in a reasonably priced car. Now Ellen is not famed for her driving. She said her only raceing with 4 wheels was on a Go Kart.

By some miracle she went on to beat everybody and become the fastest celebrity in a reasonably priced car. I almost died laughing, I didn't expect her to get above in the top half.

I hate to say it but she must be a God of some kind!

What did everybody else think,

Cheers,

Als

P.S. If you missed it I think it's repeated on Tuesday or Wednesday at 7.

Ellen being the ultimate professional probably prepared really well for this.

I reckon she had been practising before hand (and I don't mean the practise laps she got on the day).

This would be typical of Ellen, to be the best prepared on the day - she even asked if she had more or less fuel than anyone else. Now that is attention to detail.

Well done Ellen.

I agree that she should, but we all know that she won't.

It will go to one of the usual more mainstream suspects

Do I see the ashes?

Do I see a cricket captain?

Ho hum

Inlike Ellen.... there isn't a serious bone in my body.... thats one of the things I admire the most about the single minded, family loving world tourer.

I suspect she didn't. Did you notice Clarkson saying how close her lines were to the Stig's? The lady, by all accounts, learns at a ferocious speed without letting ego get in the way and I rather think she just put into practice everything the Stig could give her, learning at her normal spectacular rate.

Hear hear, I can't hear enough. Im looking forward to the 999th page for this thread, and judging by the level of admiration...we are well on the way.

Please, somebody give me another brain blistering whirlwind of complimentary flatery for the amasing, tiny lady of wonder... it makes my day complete to know all the compliments available to us English speakers are yet to be exhausted.

She is probably just a very competetive person.  After all, she  is the best in other sporting fields, why not drivng?  I don't think it was too amazing.

Dont think she is much good at losing though - She had a face like a spanked aRSe when her 2nd place was announced on Sports Personality.
