Wee ran a really successful sweepstake for the B14 worlds this year in Garda.... other classes might want to try it out! Rules Predict who would be first Predict where you would come Predict mid way place,in our case 19th (if you had 50 entries it would be 25th....) 10E entry per boat (as we were in Italy  )scoring was simple zero points for every correct prediction one point added for the number of places that you were away from the correct answer in each category... simples! range for the B14's were from +1 (guessed 2 correct and 1 place away from own finish prediction) to + 35!! Winner walked away with 350E at the prize giving...very happy!  ------------- CrispinB14 |

| It sounds fun, but if it gets into serious money isn't there something of a risk, like gambling in any sport, that some competitors may be tempted into manipulating the results for financial advantage? |

We had lots of giggles amongst teams saying things like lets sail XX off the start line for the pennies...but of course we are a fraternity of people with one thing in common and we should trust that! One of the biggest advantages that i observed was the top guys taking a whole lot more notice about everyone in the fleet...because their chance of winning depended on knowing!! ------------- CrispinB14 |
