Just wondered what radios people use at dinghy racing clubs. We seem to have problems with the last couple of sets we bought discharging all the time. If anyone has any recommendations that would be great before we fork out for some new ones again.

We sail on the sea and use Standard Horizon HX 280E VHF radios. They come with a three year warranty as standard. We have five in use at any one time. We have been using them for years and are pleased with them. They are waterproof. It helps if you are able to wash them off in fresh water after use and then dry them before putting them in the charging cradle. As well as the standard rechargeable battery that comes with the radio you can also get separate battery packs which take 4 AA batteries.
