Just about to install a main halyard lock in my Chipstow carbon rig for my Merlin Rocket.

I really don't like those. Dependant on wire, and too big a hole in the mast.

You can use dyneema instead of wire. They are pretty bullet proof and haven't had any problems so far with them on a variety of boats.
