Length, beam, weight? Or is it just a low-rider Moth. Whatever, too tippy for your skill levels.

That guy makes really neat boats, length beam weight? No idea it just looks the don which is all that matters, his other rocket looked brill, if I were still young, dumb and full of.. I'd have one, in fact by now I'd prabably have two.

He's also a really nice guy, I only met him once at the dinghy show, but had time to put up with my stupid questions without rolling his eyes too much.

Light? The last one I saw was 35kgs all up and his suggested launch method is put it on your head and walk in until it floats off..

That does look stunning. The wings are very high up - I assume this is because people are taking the Veal Heal to more extreme angles?

Time then to start shaping the wings such that the leeward, more upright one acts as a sail

I'm sure it probably does have a bit of what we used to call end plate effect which happens when you 'close the slot' (the gap between the bottom of the sail and the hull) this was another bi product of the sliding mast track, the track goes forward and the foot shuts right down to the deck, the only way to go upwind.

Looks like a Womble - 1970's by Pete Conway - which the RS300 resembles too... ;-)

I think it's a one-off though, for the time being. I cannot see for example how to disassemble the wings, everything seems bonded toghether.

I do really like the idea of the forward wings which cover the cockpit controls and do some endplating effecr, and I'd bet that there's even some more to see when the boat is completed and rigged.

I can't wait so see it finished (also because mine is next :D)

Do the wings have to come off a moth?

Sub-zero on the cool wall (until it's painted lime green anyway).

If Batman was a dinghy sailor, I think we now know what he would sail.

No, it's just a usability thing. but I guess not a lot of people would buy a boat with wings that are not detachable. One cool thing of the moth is that once disassembled it is really small and easy to transport.

Really looking forward to seeing it finished Smile

I'm just picturing that on a roofrack at 70mph - would the car take off, do you think?

Disappointed by the colour. Ford RS ASBO green or orange would have looked good (but with a weight penalty)

Shut Up Bitches!

Somebody ring the style police!

An abomination has occurred.

Get some paint stripper quick!

Who did that?

Shoot him/her, shoot the entire family, make certain they can never breed.

I'm trying to work out the benefits of this design... other than the PR value. And I have currently failed. I'm sure Mike has a an argument though.

I'm guessing that its an experiment to try and see if solid wings can be built lighter than racks and all the associated gubbins of tramps etc.

The 14s have tried it recently with a couple of boats as has Clive Everest with his Cherub, although clearly there are some benefits on a trapeze boat that aren't necessarily there on a moth.

So come on Cookey enlighten us?

Is aero-lift a minor benefit also?

One of the skills I have acquired in my long and varied life is brush graining. If the colour of said Moth offends young Fuller I can make it look like wood.....?
