Getting a bit nervy about our event for this weekend, the wind's switched and forecast to get up a bit, it's both warm and windy for tonights race, but likely it'll be a bit severe to go graunching new epoxy, we're having a last call chat tomorrow, because the forecast is shifting about and we're on the cusp of a high here. If it were a windsurfer demo, five would get you ten it'll drop for the weekend, but it's not, it's loads of gorgeous boats with fixed plates and they won't mix if it gets above 15.
Whilst I'm on I've been asked to get folk to https://www.facebook.com/hsschythe?ref=hl" rel="nofollow - Like our Facebook page you like ours we'll like yours, we're nearly at 250 at which point some magic will probably not happen at all but you know how it is...

Pass is good for Sunday still, so hope something's on down there... bringing boards anyway.

It'll be great for boards, Sunday not so windy and we'll likely race in the morning anyway, but just how many D Zero's & D1's go out will depend on Rodneys call.

cross-off isn't it? 15-20 knots - should be good for both boards and I'd have thought great blasting for D-Zeros.

Nope it'll be cross on SW, steady but waves breaking on the beach, it's low tide so they won't be huge, but putting folk in unfamiliar boats....

I don't know what this forecast is doing, it's absolutely flat calm hot and sunny here this morning.

I hope it runs.... there's a couple of things I want to achieve this weekend:
1) sail a D-One for the first (and probably last) time
2) have another go in a D-Zero
3) practice my step-gybing off the Hythe beach (every discerning windsurfer should step gybe hythe once in their life)

Allow me to correct that.. step gybe Hythe and live to tell the tale..
Oh and you should also be aware of the booty ban on Hythe Beach, you'll see the corpses hung from nearby lamp posts of windsurfers who tried to sail from Hythe in anything other than bare feet..

You should bring that Carb One down anyway and we'll show you how to use it, given you're an ex dingho now..
In fact 'Bricks & Mortar?' that should read pussy whipped ex dingho..

Well it's getting warmer and summer breezy by the minute, the D1's are still here, we're hopeful to have an Icon, the D Zero's will return with maybe even a Finn. I've done a deal with a new Kitesurfing Company which I'm trying to get flown in for our kiters (don't worry they'll be well downwind). We'll have Stand Up Paddleboards to play on and it is allegedly going to be warm.
The Breadknife and Friends will be on galley duty, I've specified Breakfast Baps, but my word around wimmen isn't entirely law. You can ask, but use a blast shield, their death glares can maim.
We have a little complication in that the Sunday afternoon is the Clubs annual Windsurfers v Sailors Cricket match which is a problem because of the carry over but I'm sure we'll cope. Best day obviously Saturday.

PS Hythe and Saltwood SC is situated at the end of the world, the bottom of Gods back garden, the bit where you fall off and drift to France. There is definitely no fall out from the Nuclear Reactor Upwind and the Range bit where you could get shot is clearly marked and patrolled by the Stazi..
It's definitely survivable.

Well the first day went off quite well after a bit of a dismal rainy start, in the end we had just about every wind direction in strengths from zero to force four and rain, muggy squalls and bright sunshine.
I've had to take back everything I ever spoken ill of that D One, it is a superb boat and the most fun I've had recently in a single hander, it's probably a bit big for me, but nonetheless it's and absolute joy to sail, the very antithesis of that RS100, it's in a totally different league.

Big Thanks to Rodney and Co from everyone at Hythe, sorry we all had to bugger off for the annual cricket match but everybody was very pleased that you took the time and trouble to come and visit us.
Hugely appreciated.

I'll be bringing your humongous slice of humble pie with me on Tuesday when I deliver the Icon. Do you want custard on it or in it?

Don't pretend to understand the custard or humble pie comments - probabaly for the best maybe... But GRF in an Icon ? ... now that in itself should really be interesting ! It will be that real life 'Marmite' moment I guess Should be very telling anyway ...
