Whaay we had training by Shirley Roberton yesterday, it was Awesome!! Hmm we didn't get a chnce to sail her Yngling put Wayfarers+Kestrals 3 up in a force 6 feel kinda keelboaty I guess!!

Was an awesome day especially when we beat her team twice, sadly I can't say i beat an Olympian as she wasnt helming but arghh well ...was still well good.

Ellie why didn't you stay down lol i know you waved to 'old shirl', but the training really was very very gd!

I did once finish one place in front of Shirley. I will admit she was making a guest appearance in a class I had been sailing for several years but hey, it felt good all the same.

She was starting to sail Europes when I sailed them but I only ever saw her transom in those!

Ahhh, well I did tonnnnnnnes more girl therapy after I left, and that cheered me up no end!!  That sounds really cool, but when I asked ed, he said he didn't really learn anything new - did you??!  (Oh, hey did you see the Volvo she had - do you think she got that from sponsors cos I swear one person doesn't need a car that big??!)

And the reason I didn't stay was because I knew everyone there (pretty much) and it would've been very embarrassing to see everyone working themselves to death in a Force 6, when I was just sat nice and warm in the club house!!!

Well I actualy really really enjoyed the day becuase my first team was legendry and we won every single race we were in and me and Rory worked really well together and did things before we asked each other to which is always good! But

Ed must of really not listened hard then becuase EVERYONE should be able to get something from a bloody Olympian, jesus!

It was great fun but quite difficult to tack as i had furled the jib but hey! would have died otherwise. Also did you see the cherub out on the water in the afternoon? think you and wham! have some competition now

Lol yes we did see old cheese before bedtime out. Paul Croote (Owner) offered me a go lol but i was wayfarering and i doubt i'd of been heavy enough but you never know! Paul was the one in the morning flying around on the bluey green windsurf rig, looked immense fun!

OOOH JP, expected to see you with you kite up. I saw your boat layed over on its side, copying out cherub style now are you lol. I was going to ask to crew for you when i worke out who you were, but then decided i was having such good fun in the wayfarer's with old shirl, that i'd stick with it!

Cheers

i was gonna get the kite up but then i realised it was about a force 5/6, i was sailing a doublehanded boat singlehanded, had the jib furled and was about 10st underweight, and i didnt want 2 look like a completely fool with an olympic champion out on the water! and the reason i was going cherub styley with the boat on its side was i needed to replace the main halyard. thought it looked like stylish on its side. lol

Huhum......Kestrels DO NOT feel "keelboaty"! .....especially not in a f6!

Wayfarer's on the other hand......in ne wind they feel like tanks

Kita, No actually i thought it was a lovely boat but it was hard work hiking falt out all day which is what i guessed a keel boat would feel like. Although most boats feel keelboaty compared to the cherub!

Wayfarers feeling like tanks....that they do but.....

Try sailing one in an F6+ chasing Lasers down the reach...you should see them scatter!!!!

I prefer the 'ball though for out and out reaching fun (I am a bit big for a Cherub)
