is menorca sailing still as good as it used to be?

How have prices been effected  by the Euro over the last 4 years?

Is the local restaurant at Las Salinas still going? Paella was fantastic, free grappa even better and as for the waitors explananttion of sea breeze in spanish....out of this world!

Can anyone comment on the Kids Clubs? For a 4 and 7 year olds.

How does Menorca compare with Sunsail Clubs?

TIA

Went to Menorca in, um, 2002 or 2003.  It was excellent, and yes the restaurant did great Paella.  We have also done loads of Nielson holidays and Sunsail once (but that was a charter/flotilla/leadmine trip).

Menorca was way more high performance kit than anyone else, a great sailing area, and awesome service (they rig & launch the boats for you . . . free fun rides & mini-tutorials with the instructors . . . etc etc).  Downsides, IMO, are

(1) it's a bit 'full on' sailing for the kids - if your kids are only halfway into their sailing they might get a bit intimidated.  Our kids had a GREAT time though.  The flip side of this is that if your kids ARE hardcore sailers, they get more tuition here at an earlier age.

(2) it's a bit expensive, and the cheap apartments round the pool are a bit basic for the money.  Perfectly acceptable though in terms of cleanliness & facilities.

[Edit - I would guess that the local prices in Euros are higher than they were in Pesetas, but the same goes everywhere, including Greece]

Neilson are great for that all-round atmosphere, fun, range of things for kids to do, mix of non-sailing activities etc.  To get their high performance kit you have to go to Porto Heli.  If you just want Pico/Laser/Dart/windsurfing then you have a wider choice.
