What was your:
1. Best sailing achievement
2. In the spirit of Dinghy Development, best bimble, pimp or mod on your boat, or even new technique.
3. Best result, not necessarily to coincide with Q1.
4. Any other major sailing happening!
------------- the same, but different...

1. Finishing second overall in the south coast circuit. There were some suprised faces at prize giving as I was 8 months pregnant by then.
2. I sail laser radial so no bimbling and with being pregnant for the season no major technique updates. Other than seeing how long I could get into my hikers.
3. Best result was getting physio to clear me for sailing just in time for start of season. First event back my hip dued after 2 races but was just happy to be back racing.
4. Safe arrival of future crew in December

Best sail this year was down the harbour for ice cream with the kids, downwind all the way back, trailing hands in the water and just glorious views.
Working out how to uncleat the spin halyard without swimming, while capsized (it's a 100 thing)
A rare win or two, but no opens this year :-(
Had a good day out on the Solent in spring, first time keelboat sailing for a while, some awesome surfing on a breezy day, but still a lot of dough and lots of people to organise to do more than every-so-often

1. Getting my health back enough so that I can properly hike a Phantom
2. Changing to aluminium cleats from carboblocks that never lasted more than 3 outings
3. Getting on the podium in my 2nd ever Phantom Open (cause I can now hike!)
4. First nights onboard my little weekender, including christening the, unused for 18 months, kampa kazi

Not falling in once this year. A first.
Winning a glass tumbler, I have no idea what for.
As above.
Restoring my Tasar.

1. Sailing my dads solo in our open in his memory one month after he passed away, prior to handing it over to the club to use for everyone's benefit as he wanted. A terribly moving but also joyful day. No wind, a naff solo and I'm far too heavy for it, but I enjoyed the sail a lot.2. there isn't one this year
3. Sailing my phantom the one and only time and getting beaten by rb_stretch but loving it so much it didn't matter
4. Same as number one or.......Deciding that I probably need to get a Finn for a while, albeit probably only a knackered old one
------------- Everything I say is my opinion, honest

The solution to that one has been http://clubsailor.co.uk/wp/bimbles/rs100-bimbles/" rel="nofollow - here for ages
1: Beating drinking buddies at Mounts Bay RS200 Nats 2: Naming the RS100 in memory of PieMan, Tim Hemsley who died in February ("Spirit of Pies") - and no, for those who knew Tim, it does not rock more as a result 3: Blowing 2nd at RS100s Nats with an OCS 4: Sticking to drinking, no sailing, at Fowey Regatta Week

1. Day 2 of Sailfest, blowing 25kts, in the Alto with my son crewing, flying downwind then getting totally in to the groove upwind, feeling like a champion (the feeling not the result) at my 1st ever time actually sailing at Weymouth.
B) Refurbing my son's ancient OK - looks gorgeous now.
iii) Sailfest (12th).
4- Just using and getting to grips with the Alto.
Happy New Year everyone

1. Being the only boat of those that sailed on Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday at Clywedog that finished without breaking anything! And not capsizing at all this year which probably means we didn't do enough sailing.
2. Best mod was changing the Albacore for a much newer one with all the controls that work. Worst mod was then finding that the not quite 10 year old one neeeded more structural work than the 40 year old one due to rotten ply reinforcement and knee at the transom. Soon be back on the water though.
3. Best result - can't remember. Best sailing done at Blithfield and Clywedog cvrda events when there was plenty of wind.
4. Happenings included great cvrda nationals at Hunts (though not enough wind for us) and doing the Lord Birkett for the first time.

I've not done a lot of sailing, more coaching. The sailing I have done has been social or the odd sailing race.
So achievements, 2nd sailor at NSSA Inlands, Team came 2nd at London Youth Games out of 33 boroughs and my brother came 2nd at the NSSA at the Regatta in the summer.
Other team members did well in events and to cap it all one member has been awarded a Topper thanks to the John Merricks Trust.

Q1 & q3, Winning one of our big long distance races in the Grad with my 5yr old daughter crewing. The 9 mile return leg upwind in a F5-6 was a bit nerve racking, but my daughter made me very proud.
Q2, adding a set of Tim Harper Zz04 sails to the Grad, along with the floating jib stick.

1. Learning to jump / chop hop and land it convincingly
2. best bimble- off the shelf North Power XT extension, first used on NYD, wouldn't sail without one now
3. Best result- coming halfway up the Wednesday night series in the solo, whatever
4. Watching my 5 year old paddle around the marina on my beginner board

1. Getting bar vouchers accepted as prizes for 2013 club racing - relatively cheap for the club to provide, and great for encouraging post-race socializing, the life blood of club life.
2. Replacing the spinnaker halyard when it snapped the day before "3"
3. Winning the Medway Marathon - my favourite race - 38 years after I last won it!
4. Sailing the South Kent Race over effectively the same course as '3', in a top, new-ish Miracle. What a cracking little boat: planed nicely on a 3-sail reach and gobbled up Laser 2000's when the wind dropped off later. 3mm Dyneema spi sheets and halyard were maybe pushing it a bit, though.

1) sailing the Mirror on Windermere, beating down to Rio, sailing among the islands and running back up to the North Pole...
2) Not many bimbles this year. Did manage 2 windy Nationals races in the Lightning without sitting out at all, and got decent results, sailing it light a yacht, so I suppose that counts as a new technique. Hope that 2014 will see me being able to get back upright from hiking without pulling back muscles!
3) Final race at the CVRDA Nationals at Hunts was probably my best result, winning the pursuit by a goodly margin after some poor results the day before.
4) Not sure yet - Have got a Lightning Open at Whitefriars, and the Minisail Nationals there, too.
