There are no Longboards that would suit you, I sent you the most modern and up to date to try, the Kona, even the Carbon Kona doesn't have enough volume for fresh water and sailing a longboard correctly is beyond most shorboarders.
They are uneconomical to build, difficult to ship, impossible to find shelf space for and no clubs to support racing, the culture of building our own was killed by the IYRU & ISAF because of the class minimum homologation numbers, so a fine pursuit is effectively killed off despite being the one form of windsurf/sailboard racing doable in all conditions. Now that Carb One has a track, it makes it a far more useful racing proposition, the idea of the Original Kona was to go upwind off the fin when the wind gets up, but it never really had VMG more than using the plate, but, using the plate was very uncomfortable without a track, I still can't get my head round sailing craft that manage without tracks.
That other board has exactly the same issues that confounded you with the big raceboard I loaned you, in order to make them work you really have to dial using the mast track particularly if you have a tendency due to excess bulk, to sink the tail off wind.. The issue you'll risk with the Carb One is damage in transit, they operate a Euro website and try to ship direct, and like us with our stupid pointy long kayaks things it's almost 100% guaranteed to be damaged in transit. (Another reason Distributor/Dealer functionality was necessary in the sailboard business). piccie no worky.... I've contacted Oxford Sailing Club- the only sailing club left with competitive windsurfing near me. I'm trying to get a real breakdown between how much course racing and how much slalom / masterblaster they do. At this point I'm more interested in the slalom, but I want to keep open minded- my 'course racing experience' with a board was the Kona, against dinghies... hardly a fair appraisal. I know they have a fleet of RS:Ones too... but that's a lightweights board. If I'm going to course race then I need to accept I need the volume of a 380. If the bias is greatly in favour of course racing, then it makes sense to try out a raceboard again. I have a Tushy 9.4 Lightning which would be good enough to get a newbie setup pulled together. However if there is more slalom sailing, then I'd probably go for the Carb One as my big board and then find a cheaper JP Slalom 127 for the higher wind stuff. The second option would be my preferred route (the Carb-One looks the nicer 'toy'), but if the last 10 years has taught me anything, then it's competitive sailing is better off 'in class', not outside it trying to convince people you've got a better proposition for them.

Dumberer got very very very lucky and has been sailing with us for some while being told what to do and how to do it, spend some time sailing with us and you too would almost certainly take the odd race off me, now I'm senile, weak through lack of training and flush with a new benevolence to youfkind that somehow seems to have come on with the onset of decrepitude. I even stopped yesterday to help a young lady with her pumping technique. I even resisted placing my hand upon her derrierre to prevent the in out thrusting action girls seem to incorrectly adopt whilst pumping. I lost an answer which basically went, get a Starboard Phantom, go to Oxford and get them to knock you into shape, and if they don't or can't, get me to come up and give you the run down. Oxford's nearer than Draycote.
I could come up and give y'all one of my 'talks' wot I used to do if there were others vaguely interested. Oxford used to have a big scene for longboard competition, no idea if it still happens.
