The Vendee one just was too consuming for me, so I'm afraid I'm ducking out of this one.

I remember doing one of those a couple of years back, I did quite well but jeez, it took years off my life.......never again LOL

Yep, 3 months of staring at rb's backside in the Vendee one was enough for me. And I'm still not sure my wife has forgiven me for the 3am sail changes...

What could possibly go wrong?

I did the Volvo a couple of years ago: "Noooooo, just a laugh, won't cost much........" was the statement to Lady Fleaberto.

In addition to the "....you're SO sad!!!" twice daily sail changes and the insistence that I must be in contact with my boat at all times, I realised that the final (compulsory) leg started two days before the end of our Summer holiday (Over in Turkey doing a Nielson) - well, this dilemma was only resolved by my buying a netbook before we left so that I could start my boat on the correct time for the final leg (missing a superb Catamaran Clinic in the process)....... a 2 or 3 day leg of a (nearly) year long 'pretend' race..............no, sorry, never again LOL

Looks like my "avoid like the plague" view of the last race was justified - I get moaned at enough for time spent on Y&Y...
