just collected a new super spars boom, complete with gooseneck as the old one didn't fit. The new gooseneck has a raised ridge centrally which presumably is designed to slot into the track on the mast. My mast doesn't have a track at this point as it has an external track starting a little higher up.

Is there an alternate fitting without a ridge or should I just grind the ridge away??

Why not email Superspars and ask?

didn't think they would be open at 6pm, and that someone here might have the answer to hand.....

Hmm... A quick scout around shows there are two Superspar goosenecks, the one you have, and a stainless on for carbon masts. Is there any way you can transplant the pin into the existing fitting?

I did briefly wonder about that - I'll check in the morning, but I rather think I'll be breaking out the dremel!

easiest way to do it is keep your existing fitting on your holt mast and drill through the pin which keeps the square pin on the new gooseneck and then that fitting fits inside the gooseneck on the mast and secure with a bolt or long clevis pin if bolting stick a nyloc nut on

Cheers Neal,

Just been looking at that option and it looks like its the best one. By the way got a great price from Robbie on the boom, so should have some left in the kitty for a spinny some time soon....
