This weekend the Byte Inlands take place at Cardiff Sailing Club. Racing will be on Cardiff Bay where good wind and fierce competition can be expected. Sailors will travel from all over the country to compete. So, drag out a boat and get there, or, just pop down to see what these amazing little boats are capable of.

ours is for sale if anyone wants one. Not because it's not amazing - it's a great boat, but we are both too fat for it.

Well I hope you do Boots, you will not regret it. The Byte Inlands were held in Cardiff Bay behind the barrage in conjunction with Cardiff Yacht Club Summer? Regatta. I was spectating. Very windy on Saturday morning, most regatta menagerie boats did not attempt it. All but 2 Bytes (a mature lady and a 13 year old) sailed 2 races back to back. After lunch windspeed increased as the Bytes rigged and all were waiting ready to go out, sitting on the boats to stop them blowing away. Two of them sailed out just as the race was called off because the wind was averaging 29 mph gusting 35 and the committee boat was dragging its anchor. The two boats that sailed out reached the line and were sent back. Very little else could cope in those conditions, even the cruisers had dinghy mains on......but the little Bytes did!
