As it's Friday afternoon and I've solved the Yardstick problem in my own head at least, and I'm feeling mellow, here's something nice for the wood botherers to contemplate next time they wax poetic over their particular piece of solid fuel dodging nonsense.

Is that something that recreational fish killers use? Do seal clubbers use beautiful varnished laminated clubs, too?

Weird people.

beautifully put Rupert.  We tree hugging wood botherers must unite against such evil.

What confuses me is why fisherchapies wear army combat gear for doing battle with 4" fish? Is the odd roach or tench as determined as the Taliban?

I like the polished wood image, perhaps suits and ties next.

...camo gear is probably to defeat the license inspectors, rather than the carp.

It's a timely reminder that for every boat yard / garage boat tinkerer, there's quite a few out there who are a whole lot more obsessed with fishing!

For those of you with a downer of fishing, try and gather a few folk and go out on a sea trip this summer... it may change your perspective and your mind... but only 'may'.

Forgetting the fact that the item is to aid wholesale fish murder by an imbecile, but the device was quite well made and something similar could be fashioned to bling up coffin dodger craft I thought. Isn't the perverse joy of starving good wood burning stoves of fresh fuel, the joy of tinkering, varnishing and further attempting to beautify what would be more appropriate with four legs and a roll top or alternate black and white ivory bits rather than have a sail attached to it?

Just saying, what would I know, you're all mental imv anyway?
