The expression "in flagrante delicto" springs to mind.

Do the SBs have judges on the water?

"C.3.3 POSITIONING
(a) When hiking or sitting outboard, crews shall sit facing inboard in such a
way that the base of their spine or legs are not on or over the side rails, or
outside the forward extension of the line of the side rails,
(b) No device, method or sheet may be used to implement or assist hiking or
sitting outboard other than the foot straps"- That's what the class rules say.

Looking at the picture, the bloke has not only the base of his spine outside of the rails but also most of his arse so I'm guessing that it's illegal.

he's not on or over the rail, and he's aft of it, not forward of it.

I agree with Al, the SB20 rules do allow for the crew to effectively hike from behind the rails for downwind action, but upwind you are not allowed to hike as you move forward to the rail area or forward.

Why do we have two threads debating this?
