What a great event.  My sailing was awful, but the club was very welcoming, excellent galley, decent course, fantastic scenery.  The weather forecast was completely and utterly wrong, but hey ho, the windy stuyff made for great spectating for those of us sensible enough to stay ahore for the first race.

Well dcone and thank you.

Thanks Winging it - Glad you enjoyed it. That wind was viciously cold even for Yorkshire Dales - and only  3 or 4 forces above the forecast (who pays those people?).

Full results, a great video and photos are all available via the club website at http://www.yorkshiredales.sc - www.yorkshiredales.sc

I'll post a few photos and the video on here when I get a chance.

Looks good, if only it had been 25 degrees then it would have been magic. That looks cold but fun.

Excellent video, lots of different boats can almost recognise them now, enough to spot a strange looking single hander at 4.81, a bit of research showing it to be a reworked Supernova sailed by someone called Hartley I guess a relative of the Boat Builders?

Did I see yet another young Escrit moving up the rankings there in a Topper? Just what the world needs that, more Escrits cluttering up the start line..Wink

Mark is the boat builder. Also the current Supernova national champion.

I'm afraid I wimped out of Grafham.  Way too windy for me in that boat.  I'm now wondering if I can get my contedering skills up to speed for the Steve Nicks.

Yes Graham, another young Escritt - my nephew who's now at National Squad level so looking like he'll be another thorn in the side of you southerners! Now regularly beating his dad and me, but at least he hasn't quite learnt how to windsurf yet, so we still have some (diminishing) bragging rights left.

Glad you all like the video. Posting a link to it on the Videos section might have been a good idea so I'll do that now!
