I was just reaching up to the finish line of the second race today. In my vintage Moth, for which I'm about two stone too heavy, in wreather that doesn't really suit it, at least when overloaded, last by a mile, totally relaxed after some very stressful weeks at work, and I thought: is there really anything I'd rather be doing right now, and, in the circumstances is there any boat I'd rather be in, and the answer to both questions was no.

And I thought, "well, you really are a lucky *****, I wonder what percentage of the world's population can say that right now..."

Give me a sunny day with a slight breeze, any boat, friends of all ages then sit outside the pub with a pint surrounded by the Peak District hills......then home and fall asleep with a cat on my knee and dribbling (me not him), bliss.....but too cold for sailing today.

ONLY WINNING IS FUN.... I thought we established that some time back !?!?!?! Wink

...or maybe not, nice post, sums it up and perhaps a backhanded compliment for today's dinghy gear which, for me at least, makes days like today a whole lot less 'painful' than they were evenly relatively recently

I sat in the sun today after the race, I can't tell you how happy I am to have rediscovered our little lake, with the Romney Hythe & District light railway steam trains chuffing by, with that oh so familiar steam, & soot smell those years of school boy trainspotting used to deliver, a moment in the sun, cup of tea... Heaven.

Nope winning doesn't matter as long as you're in a cool boat that'll attract kids/newcomers/Megan Fox in Santa girl lingerie.....
