Oracle have retained the cup, but with only 2 Americans in the team unlike new Zealand who were all Kiwis, should it not in future to be a rule the defender and challenger should sail a national boat with a national team not hire mercenary's from around the world   [:?:]

I understand your point, but that is not strictly true. Glenn Ashby (wing trimmer) is an Aussie not a Kiwi.

Your facts arent right, they werent all Kiwi on the ETNZ boat and there was only 1 american on Oracle towards the end of the AC as Ainslie replaced Kostecki.

Whereas, had they had a Nationality rule in place the total would have been
OTUSA - 8 USA
ETNZ - 8 NZL

and they would have been exactly the same people...
